It seems as if I have painted or wanted to paint all my life but until 17 years ago, it was just a hobby. I am self taught and have won awards at various art shows in the east. I display and sell my pieces at these art shows and would like to reach more people by using my home page. My love of Victorian findings, camping, fishing and collecting rocks helped me put together something more than a hobby. My collectors are all over the U.S. and some other countries. My pieces have been given for Christmas, birthdays and wedding gifts. Each one is unique in its own special way which is noted on the back of each piece. The following information is about the various items that I use to paint on and ordering info will be on the last part: Saint Nicholas of different countries seemed a good choice for my first adventure. Traveling to major rivers all over, I selected stones that were large enough to support a painting and that had character itself. I took photos of people that I saw interacting with others and painted them into Santas, Angels and Children visiting Santa. The rocks are signed, numbered and river of origin appears on the back. Some of the older buildings were coming down around my historical town of Winston-Salem, N.C. to make way for progress and the contractors allowed me to purchase a few roof slates from each one. The extra holes in each one held the slate in place on the roof. These slates date back to the 1800's and all history is located on the back. I'm sure if you love history that this info would be important to you. The Folk Santa and German Santa are the only ones that I do repetitiously and there are at least 400 out there in different parts of the country. I have collected North Carolina oyster shells at the beach and paint a very detailed Old World Santa face on each. No two are alike. My photography needs improvement and I have not been able to take such a close detailed shot of them. These ornaments are for your tree or it is sometimes worn as a necklace with ribbon.(Please specify) I have sold around 800 of these. They sell for $11.50 U.S. including S&H. Lately I have been collecting smooth oval pieces of driftwood that I find in some of the lakes around Pondersosa Pine and Redwoods in Northern California and Oregon. The wood is the bark from these trees aged by the rivers and lakes. I am working on these pieces at the moment and will display some samples on the *MORE* page as they are finished. There will be wildflowers of Ca., Santas and Angels painted on them of course. All pieces come with origin, signed and are sealed to protect them from the elements. Care instructions come with each. I do special orders on request. It takes a little longer to do these, especially when doing someone's Bed and Breakfast Inn or old home place. Please feel free to e mail me and ask all the questions you want or call, leave a message, when and where you can be reached and I will call you back. Thank you for visiting my page and come back often as it will change occasionally.
